Christmas Carols

The  koledy could be broken up into three kinds: based on church hymns; legendary with no strict historical truth but very appealing; and imaginative accompanied by a merry folk music.

Jezus Malusienki

Jezus malusienki,
Lezy wsrod stajenki,
I drzy z zimna, wzdycha nad Nim
To serce Matenki.

A uboga byla
Rabek z glowy zdjela,
W ktore Dziecie
Owinawszy, Siankiem Je okryla.

Nie ma kolebeczki
ani poduszeczki
We zlobie mu polozyla
Sianka pod gloweczki
.

Jesus, Tiny Baby

Jesus Blessed wonder,
Lay in lowly manger,
With cold trembling, while beside Him
Mother's heart was aching.

Mary was resourceful,
Covered with with head shawl,
Then with fresh hay wrapped Him gently
Kept him warm on this day.

Jesus had no cradle,
Nor a downy pillow,
So in small crib Mary placed Him
On hay, soft and mellow.

In the Still of the Night

Angels from heaven sang a thrilling psalm,
Waking the shepherds from their drowsy calm.
Rise ye shepherds, hurry onwards,
Greet the newborn Son of David,
King Emmanuel !

They found the Savior with His Mother mild,
Laid in the manger, Infant Jesus Child.
Bow ye shepherds to the Christ King,
Bring to Him your humbling offering,
King Emmanuel !

Wsrod Nocnej Ciszy

Wsrod nocnej ciszy, Glos sie rozchodzi,
Wstancie pasterze, Bog sie wam rodzi.
Czym predzej sie wybierajcie,
Do Betlejem pospieszajcie,
Przywitac Pana!

Poszli, znalezli, Dzieciatko w zlobie,
Z wszystkimi znaki danymi sobie.
Jako Bogu Czesc Mu dali,
A witajac zawolali
Z wielkiej radosci!
